There was a time when wool from Cotswold sheep was in demand around the world. Wool money paid for beautiful churches and mansions in places like Fairford and other market towns.
Much of Tetbury’s wealth in those days came from sheep and wool – there is a reason why we celebrate with the Woolsack Races!
Many of the oldest houses in town had connections in one way or another to the trade, and during the walk you’ll learn some of the intriguing stories these buildings have to tell. Last time, this walk sold out really quickly, so do not delay – book your ticket today. For information or to book please visit: www.tetburygoodsshed.co.uk
Meet at The Goods Shed just before 2pm for a gentle stroll around town lasting about one hour. Tickets are £4 and the money raised will go towards further research on the town’s history.
